The Chain of Love
He was driving home one evening, on a two-lane country road. Work, in this small mid-western community, was almost as slow as his beat-up Pontiac. But he neverquit looking. Ever since the Levis factory closed, he'd been unemployed, and with winter raging on, the chill had finally hit home.
It was a lonely road. Not very many people had a reason to be on it, unless they were leaving. Most of his friends had already left. They had families to feed and dreams to fulfill. But he stayed on. After all, this was where he buried his mother and father. He was born here and knew the country.
He could go down this road blind, and tell you what was on either side, and with his headlights not working, that came in handy. It was starting to get dark and light snow flurries were coming down. He'd better get a move on.
You know, he almost didn't see the old lady, stranded on the side of the road. But even in the dim light of day, he could see she needed help. So he pulled upin front of her Mercedes and got out. His Pontiac was still sputtering when he approached her.
Even with the smile on his face, she was worried. No one had stopped to help for the last hour or so. Was he going to hurt her? He didn't look safe, he looked poor and hungry. He could see that she was frightened, standing out there in the cold. He knew how she felt. It was that chill that only fear can put in you. He said, "I'm here to help you m'am. Why don't you wait in the car where it's warm.By the way, my name is Joe."
Well, all she had was a flat tire, but for an old lady, that was bad enough Joe crawled under the car looking for a place to put the jack, skinning his knuckles a time or two. Soon he was able to change the tire. But he had to get dirty andhis hands hurt. As he was tightening up the lug nuts, she rolled down her windowand began to talk to him. She told him that she was from St. Louis and was only just passing through. She couldn't thank him enough for coming to her aid. Joe just smiled as he closed her trunk.
She asked him how much she owed him. Any amount would have been alright withher. She had already imagined all the awful things that could have happened had he not stopped. Joe never thought twice about the money. This was not a job to him. This was helping someone in need, and God knows there were plenty who hadgiven him a hand in the past. He had lived his whole life that way, and it neveroccurred to him to act any other way. He told her that if she really wanted to pay him back, the next time she saw someone who needed help, she could give that person the assistance that they needed, and Joe added "...and think of me".
He waited until she started her car and drove off. It had been a cold and depressing day, but he felt good as he headed for home, disappearing into thetwilight. A few miles down the road the lady saw a small cafe. She went in tograb a bite to eat, and take the chill off before she made the last leg of her trip home. It was a dingy looking restaurant. Outside were two old gas pumps. The whole scene was unfamiliar to her. The cash register was like the telephone of an out of work actor, it didn't ring much.
Her waitress came over and brought a clean towel to wipe her wet hair. She had a sweet smile, one that even being on her feet for the whole day couldn't erase. The lady noticed that the waitress was nearly eight months pregnant, but sh enever let the strain and aches change her attitude. The old lady wondered how someone who had so little could be so giving to a stranger. Then she remembered Joe.
After the lady finished her meal, and the waitress went to get her change from a hundred dollar bill, the lady slipped right out the door. She was gone by thetime the waitress came back. She wondered where the lady could be, then she noticed something written on a napkin. There were tears in her eyes, when sheread what the lady wrote. It said, "You don't owe me a thing, I've been there too. Someone once helped me out, the way I'm helping you. If you really want topay me back, here's what you do. Don't let the chain of love end with you."
Well, there were tables to clear, sugar bowls to fill, and people to serve, but the waitress made it through another day. That night when she got home from workand climbed into bed, she was thinking about the money and what the lady had written. How could she have known how much she and her husband needed it? With the baby due next month, it was going to be hard. She knew how worried her husband was, and as he lay sleeping next to her, she gave him a soft kiss and whispered soft and low, "Everything's gonna be alright, I love you Joe."
God bless,
Ms Chan

The leaders who work most effectively, it seems to me, never say "I." And that's not because they have trained themselves not to say "I." They don't think "I." They think "we"; they think "team." They understand their job to be to make the team function. They accept responsibility and don't sidestep it, but "we" gets the credit…. This is what creates trust, what enables you to get the task done.Theres never an "I" in team..We learn to trust each and everyone in our class..There is love between different gender and/or race..Accomplishments have no color,if you know what i mean..WrItTEn By:TenGku MohD danIAL(4E)..

THE SEVEN WONDERS OF THE ANCIENT WORLD The Great Pyramid of GizaIt is the one and only Ancient Wonder which does not require a description by early historians and poets.
It is the one and only Ancient Wonder that does not need speculations concerning its appearance,
size,
and shape.
It is the oldest,
yet it is the only surviving of the Seven Ancient Wonders.
It is the Great Pyramid of Giza.
The Hanging Gardens of BabylonSome stories indicate the Hanging Gardens towered hundreds of feet into the air,
but archaeological explorations indicate a more modest,
but still impressive,
height.
The Statue of Zeus at Olympia This is a statue of the God in whose honor the Ancient Olympic games were held.
It was located on the land that gave its very name to the Olympics.
At the time of the games, wars stopped,
and athletes came from Asia Minor,
Syria,
Egypt,
and Sicily to celebrate the Olympics and to worship their king of Gods: Zeus.
The Colossus of Rhodes The island of Rhodes was an important economic centre in the ancient world.
It is located off the southwestern tip of Asia Minor where the Aegean Sea meets the Mediterranean.
The capitol city,
also named Rhodes,
was built in 408 B.C
The Temple of Artemis at EphesusEight hundred years after its destruction,
the magnificent Temple of Artemis at Ephesus,
one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World,
had been completely forgotten by the people of the town that had once held it in such pride.
The original temple burned in 356 B.C. and was rebuilt on the same foundation.
Fire devastated the second temple in 262 A.D.,
but its foundation and some debris have survived.
The British Museum in London counts some of the second temple's sculptures among its treasures.
The Mausoleum at HalicarnassusThe Mausoleum at Halicarnassus is the burial place of an ancient king.
Yet the Mausoleum is different,
so different from the Pyramid that it earned its reputation.
And a spot within the list,
for other reasons.
Geographically,
it is closer to the Temple of Artemis.
And it was the beauty of the tomb rather than its size that fascinated its visitors for years.
The Pharos of Alexandria (The Lighthouse of Alexandria)Of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World,
only one had a practical use in addition to its architectural elegance: The Lighthouse of Alexandria.
For sailors,
it ensured a safe return to the Great Harbor.
For architects,
it meant even more: it was the tallest building on Earth.
And for scientists,
it was the mysterious mirror that fascinated them most.
The mirror which reflection could be seen more than 50 km (35 miles) off-shore.

The Good Sports Diet
What should you eat or drink immediately after exercise/sport?
Carbohydrate rich foods and fluids within 30-60 minutes post-exercise. Compact, low bulk carbohydrate food e.g. sports bar, sports drink, muffin, sandwiches, and banana are recommended.
Would humans who engage in active sports once or twice a week require supplements and why? And which should they take if any?
Dietary supplements are not required as long as a woman eats well-balanced meals.
10 diet tips to keep for the average woman who wishes to stay on top of he/her game?
1. Eat well–balance meals. Use the Healthy Diet Pyramid as a guide
2. Choose high-carbohydrate, low-fat, low-fibre foods to ensure easy digestion, and to top up carbohydrate fuel supplies before exercise
3. Avoid high fat food before exercise to prevent stomach discomfort
4. Stick to a larger meal, 3-4 hours before exercise
5. Stick to light snacks, or liquid meals, 1-2 hours before exercise
6. Don’t forget fluids! Drink plenty of fluids especially if the weather is hot
7. Replenish fluid loss from the previous exercise session before staring the next session
8. Always have a bottle of fluid at hand to drink during exercise sessions
9. For intense sessions of more than an hour, ensure sports drink meet fluid and carbohydrate
needs simultaneously
10. Have some carbohydrate-rich food, or fluids, as soon as possible after the completion of exercise

German bidding for home gloryWith three world titles to their name, Germany are one of the great football nations of the world. A German team has played in every FIFA World Cup™ finals, except the 1930 and 1950 tournaments, and they boast an outstanding record of success.
In 1954, the famous 'Walter's Eleven' raised the trophy for the then West Germany for the first time, defeating seemingly invincible Hungary 3-2 in the final in the Wankdorf Stadium in Bern, Switzerland. Fritz Walter, Helmut Rahn and the rest of the team became idols and standard bearers for a whole country.
Twenty years later Franz Beckenbauer and Gerd Muller led the West Germans to FIFA World Cup glory again, this time on home turf. 'Kaiser' Beckenbauer captained the hosts in a riveting final against a brilliant Netherlands side. Johan Neeskens put the Dutch ahead, but Paul Breitner equalised, paving the way for Muller, the greatest German striker of all time, to score the winning goal in a 2-1 victory. It was magical stuff for German supporters and football fans everywhere.
Germany's third and most recent FIFA World Cup triumph came in 1990 in Italy after successive defeats in the finals of 1982, when they lost 3-1 to Italy in Spain, and 1986, when Argentina saw them off 3-2 in Mexico. Beckenbauer played a key role again, this time as coach to the squad captained by Lothar Matthaus. In the final, Andreas Brehme converted a penalty against Argentina, giving Germany a 1-0 win and restoring honour after their defeat by the Gauchos four years earlier.
An unremarkable decade on the world stage followed before Germany bounced back with a vengeance at the 2002 FIFA World Cup Korea/Japan™, battling to the final only to go down 2-0 to Brazil. The runners-up spot still represented a sensational achievement for Rudi Voller's men just two years after a dismal UEFA EURO 2000 campaign in Belgium and the Netherlands.
The 1996 European champions fared poorly at EURO 2004 in Portugal and Voller resigned following his side's ignominious group stage exit, making way for a new coaching crew headed by Voller's former international strike partner Jurgen Klinsmann, who set his sights high right from the start. "Our target is to win the World Cup," the new man declared on taking the helm.
German hopes rest squarely on the shoulders of Bayern Munich playmaker Michael Ballack, as the national captain seeks to inspire the youngsters around him with his experience and class. Rising stars such as Bastian Schweinsteiger and Lukas Podolski impressed at the FIFA Confederations Cup 2005, unleashing a wave of euphoria among the home faithful. Germany finished third after a narrow 3-2 defeat by Brazil in the semi-finals, boosting hopes of stirring performance at the 'main event' in summer 2006.

"Leadership is not so much about technique and methods as it is about opening the heart. Leadership is about inspiration of oneself and of others. Great leadership is about human experiences, not processes. Leadership is not a formula or a program, it is a human activity that comes from the heart and considers the hearts of others. It is an attitude, not a routine.
More than anything else today, followers believe they are part of a system, a process that lacks heart. If there is one thing a leader can do to connect with followers at a human, or better still a spiritual level, it is to become engaged with them fully, to share experiences and emotions, and to set aside the processes of leadership we have learned by rote.
Here, such experiences are never gone to waste."
Something i think, that is inspirational to read
& to understand perfectly.

School Success Step One.Attend every class and pay attention in order to get good grades. If you are not getting enough sleep, you are probably not getting the most out of every class. So go to bed earlier and get enough sleep so that you will already have absorbed most of the information while in class. If anything is unclear, don't be afraid to ask for clarification because chances are, many other people will probably have the same question. You can either ask for help while the teacher is lecturing or after the lecture if you are more shy. If you still do not understand, try to read it from the textbook, find another book on the library, or find the information on the internet. Sometimes other people can explain the concept more clearly to you
.
School Success Step Two.Do all homework assigned. That is one of the simplest, yet most effective, method of getting good grades. Even if the homework is not for grades, you will benefit by practicing and doing the homework. Only by practicing will your skills improve to the level that you will do well on exams and tests. Remember to check your answer to see if you did anything wrong. You may want to make a special note for questions where you answered incorrectly so that you can come back and review the error later and so that you don't make the same mistake on the exam. Before the exam, try to find some type of pretest either on the internet, in your textbook, or from your teacher. You can also come up with your own pretest by thinking of potential questions that you think that the teacher will ask. This is so that you practice all the concepts learned in a particular unit all at once and try to synthesize all the information learned. You may find that you are rusty on certain points and may want to brush up on them after the pretest.
School Success Step Three.Make a review sheet of key concepts. By having a review sheet handy, your last-minute studying will be much easier. Also, organizing the information for yourself is another level that helps you digest the information. It's up to you how much information you put on it, but try to put it in a succinct manner and have as many key ideas on it as you can. Be innovative in how you draft your review sheet. For example, it can be in the format of a table or perhaps some diagrams that summarize the key concepts.
School Success Step Four.Review regularly and often to get good grades. The most critical time to review concepts that you had just learned is right after learning it in order to consolidate the material. Also review regularly afterwards. This makes memorizing or internalizing concepts much easier before the exam because you will have tried to incorporate the learned material into your brain with as little effort as possible. Cramming certainly works for some people but in the long run, you do not really remember much after the exam, and that information may actually be critical in your next course. Therefore, it sets you off at a disadvantage immediately at the start of the next course. Another critical time to review, though, is before the exam because you will get your brain juices ready to attack the questions. Therefore, even though exclusive cramming is not the best, some cramming before your exam is actually beneficial.
School Success Step Five.Taking time out for relaxation and exercise will enable you to get better grades. Your grades may actually improve because you allowed your brain to get its required rest. School shouldn't only be about studying and getting high grades. In fact, when applying for scholarships or other types of school, schools often look for leadership experience, community service, or excellence in some other field. Therefore, have some fun, do some volunteering that you would enjoy, and enjoy the school experience as much as possible. At the same time, though, do not go overboard and take on too many activities that you feel drained out. Try to find a balance because then you will excel in your life as well as in school.
